NEWS

Taos Ski Valley has once again joined forces with K2 to host a collaborative celebration of two unique fundraising events on Saturday, February 25, 2017 to benefit two breast cancer organizations: Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) – a non-profit, youth-focused education, awareness, and fundraising foundation whose mission is to increase awareness about breast cancer, the importance of early detection and the value of an active lifestyle; and the Anita Salas Memorial Fund – a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance for breast cancer services in New Mexico. Skiers, artists, families, and visitors are invited to spend a day at Taos Ski Valley in support of this important cause.

Event Time
10:30am (at the top of Lift #5) – 2:30pm

Competition Begins (LeMans Start)
We will have a safety talk at the bottom of Lift #5 at 10:00am and then load the lift. We will start with what’s called a LeMans start at the top of Lift #5. During pre-race announcements everyone will be required to put their skis and boards into a designated area before you get onto the start line. When the 3, 2, 1 goes you will run about 100 feet to a bamboo pole, run around the pole and make your way back to your skis and boards and head to the Upper Al’s Run entrance. It’s a bit of a lung burner but a lot of fun and separates everyone right away.

Awards
4:00pm at the Martini Tree Bar. Teams who raise the most money, ski the most runs and have the most fun will win great prizes.

Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) - a non-profit, youth-focused education, awareness, and fundraising foundation whose mission is to increase awareness about breast cancer, the importance of early detection and the value of an active lifestyle.

Anita Salas Memorial Fund - a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance for breast cancer services in New Mexico.
