opening in june
We are aiming to begin rolling out our summer operations June 18th. We will have the scenic chair rides, eBike rentals, hiking, and food available, with mountain biking and Via Ferrata guided climbs beginning July 1st.
In alignment with the state of New Mexico, our COVID-Safe Practices remain in place. Please read below how we plan to keep the well-being of our staff, community, and guests front of mind through our summer season.
current COVID County Rating
Taos County is currently marked as turquoise based on the New Mexico COVID rating system. Counties at the Turquoise Level have reached the Green Level for two consecutive biweekly map updates. Green is defined as have both a new COVID-19 case incidence rate of no greater than 8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants during the most recent two-week period, and an average percent of positive COVID-19 test results over the most recent 14-day period less than or equal to 5%.
We’ll continuously monitor all guidelines and the effect of the coronavirus on the community, and may adjust any aspect of our business operations at any time in response.
PLAN YOUR TRIP
This summer, it's easy to plan ahead for your trip to Taos Ski Valley. Tickets for mountain biking and the scenic lift can be purchased online. Please call to reserve a Via Ferrata climbing experience.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
As we have since the onset of the pandemic, we continue to use State health protocols as the foundation of our decision making. After reviewing the New Mexico Public Health Order and the New Mexico COVID-Safe Practices please see our updated mask guidelines.
*Fully vaccinated are those who are two (2) weeks post their second Pfizer/Moderna shot or two (2) weeks post their one-shot Johnson & Johnson shot.
Fully vaccinated people are not required to wear a mask. Those who are not fully vaccinated are required to wear a mask unless actively eating, drinking or exercising alone or with those in their immediate household.
Indoor Public Spaces: Everyone, fully vaccinated or not, are required to wear a mask unless actively eating or drinking.

what to expect
You can buy tickets online for mountain biking and scenic chair lifts through the end of the summer.
We have a fleet of mountain bikes and eBikes available to rent this summer on a first-come, first-served basis. EBikes are available through Taos Sports in The Blake and our mountain bikes can be rented from Kachina Sports in the Kachina Basin.
All guests will be required to wear masks in public indoor spaces, regardless of vaccine status.
The resort will be cashless, meaning payment for all dining, rentals, ticketing, and retail will be via credit, debit, or prepaid card only. A cashless approach will reduce contact during the payment process. Guests should be prepared to pay with their smartphones or with credit, debit, or prepaid cards.
Please hold your lift/pass out away from your body as far as possible so our ambassadors can scan it. Remember: arrive together, ride together.
Capacity limitations for The Blake are based on the current COVID county rating. COVID-Safe Practices are in place like one direction elevators, masks in public areas, and limited access to the fitness center.
