Taos Air

Refundability

The Full Flex fare is fully refundable up to 24 hours before departure. If the ticket is refunded within 24 hours, then a $100 penalty will be applied to the refund request. If guest ‘no-shows,’ the guest loses 100% of the value of the ticket.

All other tickets are non-refundable. However, tickets are valid for the entire Winter season (December 20, 2018 – March 31, 2019 and may be changed without penalty. If unused beyond the Winter season, the guest loses 100% of the value of the ticket.

*Full Flex Tickets: customers who have purchased Full Flex tickets may change without any penalty or adjustment in fare up to 24 hours before departure.

If a customer wants to travel on the same day as missed flight and no Taos Air flights are available the customer will be responsible for finding alternative transportation.

Carry-on Baggage

Guests are allowed one carry-on bag plus one personal item, such as a purse, briefcase or laptop computer.

Checked Baggage

Each guest is permitted to check two pieces of baggage free of charge (up to 46 lbs in total weight), including snow sport equipment. One boot bag and one ski/snowboard bag are treated as one piece of baggage. Any additional checked baggage will be subject to a fee of $50 for each additional piece.

Unaccompanied Minors

Any minor under the age of 12 must travel with an adult.  A child traveling without a parent and/or guardian between the ages of 12 and 18 must travel with completed unaccompanied minor paperwork and must present a birth certificate and/or government-issued photo ID (ex. State ID, Driver License, Student ID).  A copy of the form must be completed by the parent/guardian and scanned to us prior to travel date. 

Infants

If a child is under the age of 2 years, they can fly as a lap child for free. If they want an additional seat for the child, or the child to be locked in a car seat, they must pay full price. If a child is 2 years or older, they must be in their own seat and pay full price.

Pets

Guests may bring small, domesticated dogs but will only be accepted for transportation in the passenger compartment. The dog's container can be no larger than 17”L x 18”W x 10”H and must be stowed under the seat. Advanced reservations are required, and a pet fee of $100 each way will be assessed. Please call 833-359-8267(FLY TAOS) to confirm space.

At no point can the dog be outside of the carrier while on the aircraft or airport boarding areas.  For dogs traveling in the cabin, pet carriers may be either hard or soft sided and must prevent escape of your dog into the cabin

Service Animals

Taos Air can accept a service dog with the following documentation provided by the passenger at least 48 hours prior to travel. 

Service Dog

  • Certification proving the dog is a trained and certified service dog.
  • Must have documentation from veterinarian for up to date vaccinations.

Emotional Support or Psychiatric Assist Animal

A letter from their mental health provider on letter head containing the following:

  • Confirmation that the passenger has a mental or emotional disability recognized in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders- Fourth Edition (DSMIV)
  • The passenger needs the animal for air travel and/or activity at the passenger’s destination.
  • The individual providing the assessment is a licensed mental health professional and that passenger is under his/her care.
  • The date and type of mental health professional’s license and the state or other jurisdiction in which it was issued.

Must have documentation from veterinarian for up to date vaccinations.

The ESA may sit on your lap or under the seat in front of you. Your animal cannot block a space that must remain unobstructed for safety reasons. 

The pilot and the flight crew has the discretion to have the ESA animal sit on the floor in front of the passenger during takeoff and landing for the safety of all passengers.

Guns

Must be in a lockable case and ammunition is to be stored separately in the Cargo area.

Dry Ice

The total weight cannot be more than 5.5 lbs. of the entire package. Package must be marked on the outside what it is and cannot be in a sealed Tupperware container. Preference is a cardboard box or Styrofoam container.  Container size cannot be larger than the cargo door.  

Ship Product without Flying

Taos Air is NOT a cargo service.  Unless you are flying on the plane, no product can be sent by our aircraft.  

URN

A sealed urn from the funeral home must stay with the passenger.  The Urn must fit under the seat or in the overhead.  

Small Air Compressor Tank:

Permitted:
A small electric air compressor will go in the cargo area.  The passenger will also need to open the air compressor for the captain to ensure that there is NO compressed air in the cylinder.

Not Permitted:  
Air compressors using gas and oil for operation are considered Hazmat.  UJC does not permit this type of air compressor.

Expired License

If a passenger has an expired license, the passenger may still board with a credit card in their name and (1) of the following forms:

  • A Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • A car registration 
  • VA Card with SS# on it and with picture preferred
  • Military ID with Photo
  • Permanent Resident Card with Photo 
  • Passport
  • NEXUS card issued by Canadian or US border authorities or any other Government issued Photo ID that is current 

Stolen Wallet or Purse

If the passenger has the unfortunate experience of a stolen wallet or purse for their proper ID, UAS will accept the police report and (1) of the following forms:

  • A Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • A car registration 
  • VA Card with SS# on it and with picture preferred
  • Passport

Lost ID at time of Boarding

Passenger will be denied boarding unless the passenger can present any of the proper boarding ID or items listed under expired license.  

Minor Children traveling with Parent(s) 

UAS does not require minor children traveling with parents a form of ID.  

Unaccompanied Minor Child

An unaccompanied minor child must have one form of ID such as a copy of their birth certificate, school photo ID or social security card along with UAS unaccompanied form upon arrival and departure.  

Unusual Case

If a driver license is valid upon the outbound and is discovered to be expired before the return flight, the passenger may still board by following the guidelines of the expired license listed above.

Flight Delays

Taos Air may encounter delays related to weather or other reasons.  In these instances, customers will be notified by Taos Air via email of any delay and updated every 15 minutes regarding status. 

In the event your flight is diverted to Santa Fe, guests using Taos Transportation will be transported to/from Santa Fe to meet the flight. Those guests who rented cars from Mountain View Shuttle can drop off the car in Santa Fe, but will be responsible for arranging transportation from Santa Fe. Those guests who arranged other transportation through Mountain View Shuttle are advised to contact Mountain View Shuttle for arrangements.
