Up & Over
In its 13thyear, the Taos Ski Valley Up & Over 10k Trail Run (Saturday, August 4, 2018) is a favorite amongst avid trail runners seeking destination mountain races and locals looking for family-friendly foot race event.
The unique Up & Over mountain course will challenge all types of runners while offering participants a chance to connect with the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The course is both stimulating and scenic with climbing sections that tease with amazing views of Kachina Peak and Wheeler Peak. Rain or shine, the 10K starts at 9 am featuring an approximate elevation gain of 2,612 feet (796 meters). The race starts and finishes at the state-of-the-art Children's Center on Firehouse Road at a starting elevation of 9,200 feet. The course starts with a gradual gain up Strawberry Hill towards Whitefeather, Jess’s and Bambi ski trails heading to the top of Lift 2. The course descends via Honeysuckle and Street Car ski trails before it weaves back to the Children's Center for the finish line. Winners from 2017 finished around the one hour mark.
Regular registration is $55 with late registration available August 1-3 for $60. If available allows, day of race registration is $65. All registrants will receive an event t-shirt, goody bag,
and special after-race party.
