It's recommended that you arrive no later than 8:15AM to check in at the Snowsports Office, get rentals, and be geared up by the lesson start time.
Please be advised that prices are subject to change in busier times such as holidays.
While gratuity is not required, it is appropriate and shows your appreciation for your instructor and makes them feel great! Typically, people give their instructor a 15-20% gratuity based on the cost of their lesson.

FAQs
where do adult lessons meet?
Please arrive at the respective flags ten minutes prior to the lesson start time, dressed and ready to learn
- Adult Group Lessons meet on the snow at the Pioneer base area. Look for the flags.
- Private Lessons meet on the snow at the Red Flags at the base of Lift 1.
What time should I arrive at the mountain for my Lesson?
-
If you purchased rental equipment, we recommend arriving at the mountain at least one hour prior to your lesson start time.
-
If you are staying off the mountain, allow yourself extra time during inclement weather. AWD, 4WD, or chains are required for all vehicles driving to Taos Ski Valley during the winter months.
Where should I park?
We recommend parking in the Armadillo lot near the Rio Hondo Learning Center and taking either:
- The Gondolita; located next to the Rueggli Lift outside the Rio Hondo Learning Center
- Parking lot shuttle
do I need a lift ticket?
Yes. Lift tickets are required for all lessons, even if you are a beginner
- Novice Lift Tickets are designed for beginners and are only valid on lower mountain terrain.
- All Mountain Lift Tickets are designed for all abilities and are valid for all lifts and terrain.
I purchased rentals with my adult lesson. where should I pick them up?
All adult rentals purchased through Taos Ski Valley can be picked up at Taos Sports located in the plaza after checking in at the Snowsports Office.
Can I Request an instructor for my group Lessons?
You cannot request an instructor for a group lesson. If you have a specific instructor in mind, we recommend purchasing a private lesson.
I am traveling to Taos from a lower elevation. what should I remember when going up in Elevation?
Skiing and snowboarding exert a lot of energy, and many of our guests traveling from below 8,000 feet tend to suffer from altitude sickness. To ensure your family acclimates properly, we recommend getting plenty of rest, drinking plenty of water, and increasing your carbohydrate intake prior to hitting the slopes and throughout your stay.
what is your cancellation policy?
We have a 14-day cancellation policy.
I was LATE AND MISSED my LESSON. WHAT should i DO?
Please talk to a staff member in the Snowsports Office to reschedule the lesson.
