On-Mountain Activities

Everything you need to prepare for your mountain adventure, including lift ride details, bike park info, Via Ferrata guidance, UTV Tour tips, and more.

SCENIC LIFT RIDES

Scenic Lift Rides run daily 10AM - 4:30PM, June 19 - September 7, then Friday through Sunday, September 11 - September 27.

  • Lift 1: Lift 1, located near the Resort Center, operates Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Lift 4: Lift 4, located in Kachina Basin, operates daily.
  • At the Top: Once you reach the summit, you're free to hike, take in sweeping views, and immerse yourself in the natural surroundings.
  • Pets: Service animals are only allowed on the lift if they are strapped into a chest carrier.

Scenic Lift Ride FAQs

MOUNTAIN BIKE LESSONS

Meet Your Instructor: Meet your instructor at Kachina Basin Sports at 9:45AM or the morning lesson or 12:45PM for the afternoon lesson.

What to Wear:

  • Closed-toe shoes are required.
  • Eyewear and gloves are not included but are highly recommended and available for purchase at Kachina Sports.

What's Included:

  • Beginner lessons: Private instruction, protective gear, and a rental bike.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced lessons: Private instruction. Rental bikes and protective gear are not included.

VIA FERRATA

Meet Your Guide:

  • Your guide will contact you before 6PM the evening before your trip to confirm your reservation and share any last-minute details and answer any questions you might have.
  • Meet your guide in front of the Eis Haus Lawn at 8:45AM for the morning tour or 12:45PM for the afternoon tour.

What to Wear:

  • Athletic, closed-toe shoes
  • Hiking, climbing, or athletic pants
  • A long-sleeve or sun shirt is recommended
  • Sunglasses with a retaining strap is recommended
  • Insulating layer and waterproof shell
  • Sunscreen

What's Included:

  • All climbing equipment is provided, including helmet, harness, and lanyard. Approach shoes are available if needed.

UTV TOURS

Meet Your Guide:

  • Meet your guide in front of the Eis Haus at 8:45AM for the morning tour or 12:45PM for the afternoon tour.

What to Wear:

  • Closed-toe shoes
  • A long-sleeve or sun shirt is recommended
  • Sunglasses or protictive eyewear is recommended
  • Insulating layer and waterproof shell
  • Sunscreen

What's Included: A guided tour of the mountain roads within the ski area, including the history of Taos Ski Valley.
